RJ Lipscomb Engineering Celebrates National Machinist Day
We celebrated National Machinist Day here at RJ Lipscomb Engineering this week. Our machining is central to the all-around service we provide. This is a job that requires technical skill, experience, and attention to detail. Machinists often need to understand how the component fits into the machine, what its function is and what parameters are critical to its operation.
When a customer calls us with a breakdown or equipment that is underperforming, or it has become unpredictable, we send a service technician to troubleshoot the problem. Often this leads to pulling parts that are no longer available from the manufacturer. We bring those parts back to our shop where our machinists take the lead. From here there are sketches are made, drawings may be rendered and then the machining starts. We have a shop full of traditional manual equipment; lathes, mills, grinders, etc. and a skilled team whose attention to detail turns out precision custom parts. Together our team can troubleshoot, pull faulty components, re-make them, and reinstall them to minimize downtime.
So, this week we celebrate those who are working behind the scenes to keep production running smoothly.
